Andy is currently based in Los Angeles, California where he lives with his amazing wife, Rachael and their adorable dog, Scout. After his first childhood dream of becoming a Fire Truck proved to be difficult, Andy settled on his second childhood dream of pursuing a career in comedy.

Andy studied and performed improv and sketch on the stages of notable comedy theaters including; The Second City Chicago, The Upright Citizens Brigade L.A., The Groundlings, The Brave New Workshop and HUGE Theater in Minneapolis, MN. With over a hundred different stage productions, Andy has worked with many theater companies including; The Guthrie Theater, Old Log Theater, Workhaus Collective, The Pillsbury House Theater, Yellow Tree Theatre, The Walker Art Center, Four Humors Theater, Shakespeare and Company, The National Theater for Children, CLIMB Theater, Comedy Suitcase and Actor’s Theatre of Minnesota. Andy also has co-created and performed in many shows from Mainly Me Productions like, THE WRIGHT BROTHERS, JENGA!, and CLASS OF 98, among many others including, the yearly seasonal sellout show, A VERY DIE HARD CHRISTMAS, playing each December at the Bryant Lake Bowl Theater in Minneapolis, MN.  

Andy has worked with puppetry on stage and film in the US and abroad for over a decade. He has performed Marionette and Bunraku puppetry at Panma Chiro Teatro in Tokyo, Japan. He has also worked with the award winning Open Eye Figure Theatre as a puppeteer, writer and director of puppet shows for over 9 years. The first touring show he created with fellow artist Liz Schachterle for Open Eye, THE AMAZING COWBOAT, was seen by over 50,000 adults and children and was featured in American Theater Magazine. You can catch The Amazing Cowboat this summer in backyards all over the Twin Cities.  Andy has also worked as the Puppet Consultant for THE CAT IN THE HAT at the Regional Tony Award winning Childrens Theater Company.

Recently, Andy won the award for BEST COMEDY WRITING at the South Dakota Film Festival for the comedy short, KILLER HIKE 7. As well as the AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENT IN ACTING for his role in the short film, THE RUG, which screened at the 2021 Dances with Films festival in Los Angeles.

Currently, Andy is in pre-production on the short film, BEING FURIOUSLY PUNCHED IN THE FACE WITH SUNSHINE.
